This favorite ran on DD in the 80s and is still remembered by a generation. It features the Palekar light touch and flair for creating sparking vignettes. It launched an entire series of stars and luminaries. This segment introduces the family and their friends, progressing to the point where they make the acquaintance of Shankey ( the counterpart of Laurie in the book) and his family; and their adventures.

First, I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the movie. The HD format made it look modern enough that I forgot it was made 23 years ago! This was one of my favorite TV series back in school, perhaps because it was based on Little Women, one of my most cherished books. Loved the acting of the three main girls, and wonder what happened to all of them, especially the youngest one, Meenu. It leaves off when the romance is blossoming between Bhagyashree and her tutor friend, and I am really looking forward to see how things turn out in Season 2.
The second season of Amol Palekar's children's serial, featuring growing pains, romance and heartbreak.
